25% deposit required upon booking. Le Macassar is located on the main square of the town of Corbie, 15 minutes from the centre of Amiens – the capital of the Picardie region of northern France. In a building extensively restored in the 1920's and 30's, in a unique art deco style, there are earlier art nouveau interiors alongside traditional eighteenth century rooms. Le Macassar offers five large en suite rooms and suites beautifully appointed with a mixture of antique and modern furniture, art works, marble fireplaces and equipped with amenities such as CD players and tea and coffee making facilities. High quality beds, pillows and duvets ensure a comfortable nights sleep. Each room has a luxurious, newly appointed bathrooms - many with whirlpool tubs. Le Macassar offers the comfort and service of a small luxury hotel together with the relaxation and informality of a private home. There is a large, sunny formal courtyard garden. Relax with a book in the art nouveau splendour of the Majorelle drawing room, help yourself to a glass of wine or bubbly and hors d'ouvres after a days sight seeing; or challenge fellow guests to a game of French billiards in the art deco billiard room. For breakfast, a delicious and varied selection of home made and local produce is included in the room rates – served in the dining room or on the terrace at a time to suit you. Superb local restaurants are within walking distance or a short drive away and the hotels staff will be happy to make recommendations and reservations for lunch or dinner. Evening meals at Le Macassar can be arranged at additional cost and by prior arrangement. Transportation can be arranged from the train station or airport.

Notes By car the hotel is just 1.5 hours from Paris & Calais, and 2.5 hours from Brussels . The nearest airports are Paris Charles de Gaulle (<1.5 hours) and Paris Beauvais (<1 hour). As well as the local train station in Corbie, the high speed ‘TGV' train station of Haut Picardie is 20 minutes away. The region is well known for its outdoor pursuits such as horseback riding, swimming, fishing, golfing and boating, and also for its string of impressive gothic cathedrals and abbeys. Amiens Cathedral, located 15 minutes away, is the largest gothic cathedral in the world and a Unesco world heritage site. Amiens itself is a lively university city with many restaurants, bars and shops. Many hours can be whiled away exploring the lanes and canals of the St Leu district, taking a traditional ‘barque' (flat bottomed boat) among the floating allotments of the ‘hortillonnages' or simply people watching in an outdoor café. Tennis, fishing, golf in the vicinity. Fantastic local pool.
