Close to the châteaux of the Loire and a two hour drive on the autoroute from Paris, le Haras de la Potardière is an 18th century manor house set in twelve hectares of park and woods in a region rich in heritage and natural beauty (and with three golf courses close by). In the summer months there are horses grazing in the paddocks (the farm takes in thoroughbred horses for training). In the Chateau are seven guest rooms and on the farm there are ten guestrooms, most looking out on to lovely pastoral views of grazing horses and countryside. The chateau's rooms are on two floors, all with either twin or one large bed and with full bathrooms. They are all comfortably decorated and spacious. In the Farm building are guestrooms for two or three guests. There is a delightful heated swimming pool in the grounds which is open May to September, a bar, tennis court, and various games ( Billiard francais, Baby foot, Pétanque, walks in the paddocks and in the surrounding woods, pingpong and volleyball.
