In the heart of the Luberon, across from the pretty hilltop village of Gordes, is Le Mas des Romarins, a renovated 19th century house (and newer addition) with a friendly feel. Set in pleasant grounds and looking across the valley to the old town (a five minute walk down the hotel's footpath) the small hotel has thirteen double rooms - some in the annex and some in the main building. The rooms are simply decorated in Provencal style and named after villages and sites in the Luberon. Most of the rooms have air conditioning and some have Jacuzzi bath. There are hair dryers, mini bar, satellite TV, telephone and Internet points in the rooms. The rooms on the ground floor have a small private terrace or garden. On the upper floor the rooms have a view of the village, the valley and the hills of the Luberon. There is a suite for three people and a junior suite for four available. Within the stone walls a veranda offers you an unobstructed view (the only one in Gordes) of the village and the neighboring valley. The hotel also has a swimming pool. Dinner is served four times a week on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday night. The market menu offers an aperitif and snacks, a seasonal stater, a provencal main course, cheese and dessert. Rate is about 30 euros per guest or 24 euros as half pension rate if you have the 4 dinners in the week at the Mas. It is important to reserve your table in advance. Dinner is served at 7.30 PM. Note that in high season it is mandatory for guests to take breakfast and dinner at the hotel. There are many wonderful restaurants and cafes in Gordes. For lunch in high season, the hotel offers light salads made with regional products and served on the terrace. This is a great location if you want to visit Gordes: the hotel has its own secure parking lot for guests at no cost (very difficult to find in this busy area) and walking to the village is very easy. You are away from the noise and traffic of the village and have the advantage of easily walking there.

Our Feedback
Rating: Excellent “The hotel met all our requirements and I would like to add that Dominique was particulary helpful.” Rating: Excellent “Liked: This hotel is perched above the town of Gordes in the Provence area of France - the view was wonderful. The hotel is small (maybe 11 rooms) with some in the main house but our room was on the grounds with a private patio with outdoor furniture and umbrella for relaxing. The pool was crystal clear and nice for a dunk after a warm day. The room had a comfy king bed and the bath was modern. The hotel serves dinner 3 nights a week and we were lucky to be there on one night. A fantastic 6 course meal served on the outdoor patio overlooking Gordes. Breakfast is also served either indoors or outdoors. Hotel staff was very nice.
A quite private feeling prevailed. We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay Didn't Like: We liked everything. No complaints.” Rating: Excellent “(No Comment)” Rating: Excellent “(No Comment)” Rating: Excellent “(No Comment)”
