Not far from Paris (42 minutes by TGV train), is this pleasant, peaceful little hotel in the heart of the Vendôme forest. Surrounded by 5 acres of parkland, this manor was once a hunting lodge, and is now a stately residence that combines character with a warm welcome. Le Manoir has two big sunny terraces where you may enjoy breakfast or dinner. Le Manoir has sixteen spacious ensuite double guest rooms, each differently decorated with style and charm. The rooms have private bathrooms, cable television, direct dial phone. There are also two special suites. The very pleasant restaurant has a menu highlighting the talents of their chef, specializing in seafood, fish and regional dishes.

“We enjoyed the stay as we had previously found it some 39 years ago.
However, our bedroom was in need of refurbishing, bathroom tiles missing & peeling wallpaper” Rating: Good
“The hotel 'majored' in food and it was delightful. Unfortunately it did not have a map of the local area and we got lost on a local walk that turned into a marathon - we had a great day's walking though even though it was a long way. I could have done with a long bed but that's France for you - we own a Guesthouse in GB and have beds that are seven feet long - I'm six foot six tall - and our bed at Le Manoir was six feet long with a footboard - we knew it would be like that so I'm not complaining but you did ask for feedback - Le Manoir is set in a beautiful part of countryside and I would certainly visit again” Rating: Average

It was a lovely building in lovely surroundings. Service was very good.
Didn't Like:
Parts of the building look a little tired especially from the outside. Dinner was ridiculously expensive for waht was a very average meal. THe owners would do better to increase the accomodation costs as this was very reasonable for a comfortable hotel.”
