This unpretentious little hotel and restaurant, with delightful owners, is in a real provencal farmhouse that has been restored inside and out. With just fourteen guestrooms of various size, all ensuite and with radio/cd player, hairdryer and telephone, it is a very relaxing and friendly place to stay. There are six standard double rooms (four with one big bed and two with twin beds); five superior rooms and three junior suites. The superior rooms and junior suites can accommodate an extra bed or two. In the restaurant there are two dining rooms or you may dine under the 200 year old plane tree on the terrace. Breakfast is a buffet and dinner menus are created with local seasonal products - the menus change every day in high season and the food is delicious. Please note that in high season, half board is compulsory (add 35 euros per person to the accommodation rates shown). Children's meals cost between 15 and 30 euros. Accommodation rates include breakfast and taxes. The Mas is located in Lagnes which is 6 km. from Isle sur La Sorge and 20 km. from Avignon and is at the edge of the Luberon National Park. The hotel offers all sorts of wonderful packages - cookery courses, golf packages, truffle weekends, cooking with Thierry, Olive weekends. Le Mas des Gres has been featured in many significant magazines and comes highly recommended.

If the reservation is cancelled 21 days or more prior to arrival a 30 Euro admin fee is charged by the hotel. If cancelled 21 days or less prior to arrival the 25% or one night stay deposit is not refunded. For shortened stays less then 48 hours prior to arrival one nights stay will be charged.

The hosts, Nina and Thierry, were the soul of hospitality - genuinely helpful and friendly. The hotel was immaculate and handsome, the rooms clean and comfortable, the food, spectacular.
Didn't Like:
The fact that we had to worry about gas availability due to striking French workers who didn't want the retirement age raised to 62. The poor dears. In Canada, there is no retirement age. Because of our worries of a gas shortage, we cut short our stay at Le Mas des Gres by two nights, which we did not want to do. ” Rating: Excellent
