Half-board prices 60 Eu are per person and per day and on the basis of a double room. They include breakfast at the buffet and the gourmet's menu without drinks. We recommend this option from June to September. Please note rates may vary over the weekends. This lovely Directoire Chateau overlooking the Dordogne river is situated half way between Bergerac and Sarlat in the Perigord Noir region. Built in the 19th century, it is in an English-style ten acre park. There are twenty-two rooms that overlook the park or the river, all with air-conditioning, 12-channel satellite TV, internet WIFI access free of charge and superbly appointed bathrooms. In the restaurant Les Delices d'Hortense, the high standards of cuisine and service are reflected in the awards received from the most prestigious food guides. This superb food is served in two impressive dining rooms, the Eugénie and the Hortense, each seating 30 to 35 persons and in the summer months lunch is served on the terrace. There is a sauna, whirlpool, jacuzzi and steam bath, an outdoor swimming pool, tennis, fishing in the river, biking, canoeing and three golf courses within 30 km. This would be an ideal base from which to explore the area.
Family Information
Child friendly: A child under the age of 12 stays free of charge in a room shared with 2 adults but must pay for any additional services such as breakfast. In the annex at this hotel there is a two bedroom suite that is great for families.
Meal Information
A large buffet breakfast is served all morning in the salon. The gastronomic restaurant is very famous for its haute cuisine. It serves dinner each evening in the dining room. The bistro is also open everyday for lunch and dinner for lighter, more economical fair.
Notes Closest airports are Bergerac (40 km) and Perigueux (60 km). Cooking classes are available. Périgord's cultural heritage is one of the richest and most fascinating in Europe. The history and development of mankind is reflected in the region's prehistoric sites (Lascaux, Font de Gaume, Combarelles, the Gouffre de Promeyssac and the Museum of Prehistory ...), 1001 châteaux, a world famous tradition for good food (foie gras and truffles) and its richly coloured landscape. Visit the Chateau de Beynac.
