A delightful 17th century chateau in south west France, just fifteen minutes from the centre of Bordeaux, is a very special bed and breakfast inn. Nestled behind the roman church of the picturesque village of Martillac, the Chateau de Lantic is surrounded by vineyards belonging to most prestigious Bordeaux and Paessac-Léogan wines. Renovated with passion and run by a friendly and knowledgeable owner, this is a perfect base from which to explore this wine-growing area. The four ensuite rooms are spacious and full of character, decorated with antique furniture and paintings. The junior suite has a king size bed, bath and shower, and a view over the vineyards. The family suite (for two or four people) has two double bedrooms, living-room, kitchen and bathroom, with a view over the vineyards. The Comfort room has a king size bed, shower in the bathroom and a view to the vineyards. The Tradition Room has a double bed, shower in the bathroom and a courtyard view. Enjoy the gorgeous swimming pool reserved exclusively for the guests of the hotel: made of white ceramic mosaic tiles, it features full length roman steps, flag stone pool terrace and comfortable sun loungers and parasols. Relax in the park and the grounds of the chateau, take a drink on the terraces or simply read your book in the shade of the olive tree. If you reserve in advance, the owner can arrange a Bordeaux wine tasting initiation. There is no restaurant at the Chateau but several are within easy driving distance.

Cancellation Policy:
Cancellation more than 3 days before arrival, the 30% deposit will be kept. Cancellation less than 3 days before arrival, the amount of one night will be charged for a stay of less than 3 nights, and of 2 nights will be charged for a stay longer than 3 nights. In the case of early departure, one night will be kept in compensation. A stay can be postponed with a set fee of 15€. It is also possible to cancel a reservation within 48 hours of receipt of booking confirmation if the reservations is over 2 weeks away, within 24 hours if the reservations is over 4 days away, and by immediate return of the confirmation if the reservation is for in less than 3 days away.

Didn't Like:
The hotel has no restaurant and did not think to advise us to book the only one in the village. Since it cost us £100 to get taxis into and out of Bordeaux, this is annoying (we don't drink and drive, but we don't expect to eat without drinking).
Also rooms lacked mini-bar and were pretty basic.”
