Château de Méracq is located at the crossroads of 3 departments: Pyrénées Atlantiques, Landes and Gers, 21 km North of Pau and 1hr30 from the Ocean and the mountains.It is situated in the heart of a shady 2-ha park planted with numerous tree species of which one is a two-hundred-year old oak tree. On a clear day, you will see the Pyrenean mountain range from La Pierre St-Martin to the Andorran summits. Just twenty minutes drive from Pau, an hour from the sea and the mountains, on the road to Spain and the Guggenheim museum. This pretty, late 18th century castle provides a wonderful welcome to the Bearn region. The chateau has just eight spacious ensuite rooms for guests, all decorated in a fresh and colourful way, and there are specially designated non-smoking rooms. There is an excellent restaurant serving gourmet regional dishes, a bar, terrace, garden and parking. Jean-Pierre will prepare a traditional, local yet creative and re-interpreted cuisine that will be served in the dining room or on the patio outdoors, dependent on the season. The hospitable English-speaking hosts will make your stay pleasant and comfortable at this delightful small hotel.
