Awaiting 2012 prices from the hotel. In Provence, and the Verdon Nature Park, the Bastide du Calalou is a charming small hotel set in 10 acres of parkland near the village of Moissac-Bellevue. The south-facing rooms have a view across the valley and the west-wing rooms have a view to the hills of the Haut Var. Some rooms have a garden view with Terrace. The eighteen Classic rooms have direct telephone, satellite television, safe, minibar, and full bathroom with hairdryer. The five Bastide rooms are more spacious and luxurious. The décor is warm and authentically provencal, with antique furniture and art from the area. The area is full of vineyards and olive trees, lavender and sunflowers, and the special Provencal light that has - and continues to - inspire artists. Lunches and dinners are served in the dining room or on the terrace in warm weather (menus 22 – 59 euros). The restaurant is excellent and as well as being a member of Maitres Restaurateurs Varios, it is in the process of being designated with the European Eco Label.
Meal Information
Buffet breakfast from 7 - 10 am. Lunch from 12 to 2 pm. Dinner: 7 to 9:30 pm. Lunches and dinners are served in the restaurant, on the veranda and on the terrace. Menus from 22 to 59 Eu.
Notes Visit Gorges du Verdon, lakes Sainte-Croix and Esparons. Villages of ourtour, Moustiers Sainte-Marie, Aups (capital of the black truffle), Sillans la Cascade. The Abbey of the Thoronet, the prehistory museum at Quinson, hilltop hamlets of the Haut Var.
