Brilliant restoration - place felt very French (though run by Brits). As far away from a modern chain hotel as you can get. Well worth forking out for the Vigniamont suite - felt like we were in the Palace of Versailles.

Liked it all.”

What didn't we like. The owner "Robbie" was a gracious host. He was there to serve wine and snacks in the evening and in the morning to make certain our breakfast was ready. He had great suggestions for dinners out,for visits to Montpelier and lent us maps. The history of the hotel was very interesting and our room (suite) on the top floor had a lovely living room with fireplace. It was well furnished in period pieces, bed was very comfortable and the bath was new and modern. We felt like we were truly in Count Vigniamont's home of the 16th century. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would return again for a longer stay. This is a very small home with 6 rooms. We met our fellow travelers at wine in the reception room and had interesting conversations.

Nothing - there was nothing to complain about.”

“Absolutely fabulous.Very friendly couple who own it and an excellent breakfast. Could not have wished for anything more. Refreshing not to have a tv in the room. ”
