3 kms from the seaside town of Royan, by the side of the Atlantic and in the middle of a pine forest, the Duchesse de Rohan held her literary salons in this ancient hunting lodge with an English cottage. In the Villa the rooms all have a terrace and overlook the park, and the annex rooms have a pool view. All have direct access to the sandy beach of Nauzan. The rooms, all ensuite, are pleasantly decorated and spacious, and there is a bar and a tea room on the terrace with a view over the beach. The rooms have satellite television and are comfortably decorated. There is private parking at the hotel, private tennis and a heated pool surrounded by chaises and umbrellas. Breakfast (and afternoon tea) are served, but there is no restaurant at the Hotel.

Notes Golf de Royan Maine Gaudin (18/6): Other golf coures within 80 kms: Cognac, Saintes, Oléron, La Rochelle, Le Pian. Between two bays, Royan at three km. with its shops, casino, restaurants and beach. Numerous châteaux on the Route Historique des Trésors de Saintonge.(La Gataudière, La Roche Courbon, Panloy...) The towns of Cognac and Bordeaux with their wines. Le bassin de Marennes-Oléron famous for its oysters. et ses huîtres. Surrounding beaches and interesting coastline.
