The Hotel Gounod, located in the centre of the beautiful town of St. Remy de Provence, was opened in 1830. Now a charming little inn, complete with swimming pool in the garden, terraces and tea room, it is one of the prettiest (and best located) places to stay in St. Remy. There are thirty four double rooms and three junior suites, all ensuite with king size beds and with air conditioning, safe, flat screen television and hairdryer and bathroom in the bathrooms. Each is uniquely decorated in styles ranging from light-hearted to sombre. The inn has its own private parking (crucial in this busy little town) the cost of which is included in the price of your room. The Gounod's tea room is a haven of peace - not to mention the wonderful teas and pastries freshly made with local ingredients. Open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. it is the perfect place to relax after a day's sightseeing. This is a completely no-smoking inn. Please note that the hotel is closed in January.

For a late arrival, please contact the front desk. 20 minutes from the Avignon GTV station. 40 minutes to Nimes airport. 20 minutes to Avignon airport. 1 hour to Marseilles airport. A great location from which to visit Les Baux and the Alpilles towns.

the petit dejuener and the wait staff in the Tea Room
Didn't Like:
when we checked in to our hotel they did not tell us that our room would bear the brunt of extremely loud rock music that was part of a special festival going on. we were kept awake til 1:00 AM. we asked to be moved but that was not possible. we understand that festivals are loud and go til late in the nite but we should have been warned as we checked in. Also- the staff was not truthful about how long the noise was going to continue- they minimized it and made it seem like no big deal. it was impossible to sleep as our room was on the front of the building and our windows opened up to all the action.”

Liked the small town feel of St. Remy. Hotel Gounod was in the center of town so was convenient to walk to restaurants and shops.
Didn't Like:
Parking was far from the hotel and had to drag suitcases on rough road. Room was decorated very poorly in bright orange. Very Ugly!!! Continental breakfast included was not very good. Only ate the breakfast once.”
