In the centre of San Remy de Provence this hotel is a welcome break from the typical provencale bastides one expects. The hotel has clean architectural lines inside and out and the theme is photography, with artworks throughout (and there is also a screening room). The rooms have views of the patio, and a garden full of fruit trees and water features (including two swimming pools). This is a different and fascinating place to stay. The soundproofed rooms are decorated in typically earthy provencal colours and textures with modern fittings, and ensuite bathrooms. Rooms have either one big bed or two beds, some rooms having their own private hamam. The casual restaurant borrows from Japanese gastronomy and adds a French touch. Dine on the terrace with views over the Alpilles in Restaurant Chez l'Ami, or visit one of the many restaurants within walking distance. There is a wonderful room with a tree house attached - romantic for two or fun for a family. Parking available.
Meal Information
There are two restaurants: one is traditional, open on Thursday and Monday evenings; and one Sushi Bar, open on Tuesday and Saturday.
Notes Saint Rémy is situated at the crossroads of Provence. All the interesting surrounding towns are less than an hour away. Avignon 30mn (gare TGV 20mn), Arles 30mn, Nîmes 45mn, le Pont du Gard 30mn, les Baux de Provence 10mn, le Lubéron 45mn, la Camargue 45mn, Aix-en-Provence 45mn, Marseille Aéroport 50mn.
