Discover the charm and history of the Bourbonnais region at the Chateau d'Ygrande, located only three hours south of Paris. Its hilltop position offers wonderful views of the estate's 40 hectares including the lake, forests and fields. From its southern exposure, the terrace provides views of the estate and farmlands, church towers and the traditional bocage. Large, flower-filled terracotta pots along the terrace enhance the area, making it the perfect place for enjoying a refreshing drink or meal. When the days turn hot, relax or nap in the shade of old, spreading trees. At the heart of the property is the beautiful, romantic 19th century mansion, completely renovated and operated as a small hotel with just sixteen rooms. Each of the comfortable guestrooms has a complete modern bathroom, tasteful décor and antique furnishings of the period. Each room also has a direct phone line, modem hook-up and satellite television. A gourmet restaurant with roots deep in the Bourbonnaise tradition offers local cuisine with produce from the chateau's gardens, neighbouring farms, or local markets. Meals are served in the hunter's dining room, the more intimate Directoire Salon, or outside, on the inviting terrace from 30-50 euros pp. There is an excellent wine cellar, riding stables and a swimming pool that is open from May to September. Excursions of all sorts can be organized by the hotel as well as themed breaks. Horses are omnipresent in the fields around the château or in the recently modernized stables. There are some culinary classes available and also a complete package including visits to local historical buildings. Just ask us.

There are three larger rooms that have a single bed in them. An additional bed can be added.
Meal Information
The hotel's restaurant serves traditional/gastronomic cuisine. Menus start from approx. 26 Euros for lunch and 50 Euros for dinner. Breakfast is served from 7.30 to 10.30, lunch is served from 12.30 to 2 and dinner from 7.30 to 9.30. All meals are served at the hotel in the summer. In the winter the restaurant is closed on Sunday and Monday.

Cancellation Policy:
If cancelled more than 30 days prior to reservation, no cancellation charge will be made by the hotel. From 30-7 days prior to arrival, 30% will be retained; Less than 7 days or no show, 100% of the cost of first night and 50% of the cost of the following nights. If there is a partial cancellation (changing number of rooms or nights booked) if received less than 2 days prior to reservation date, full cancellation charge will be made by the hotel for the cancelled rooms.
